چکیده

Anti-VEGF therapy has been used as the anti-angiogenic agent in cancer treatment. However, treatment often couples with severe complications. Complementary natural products that offer similar potency less side effects are sought alternatives. Study showed Malaysian Tualang Honey (MTH) can inhibit inflammation-induced vascular hyperpermeability vitro and vivo, but effect on angiogenesis process remains unclear. Thus, this study aims to determine of MTH. Effects MTH ranging from 0.3% 0.9% VEGF-induced human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) was determined by proliferation, migration tube-formation assays. Matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) secretion HUVEC VEGF production MCF7 response were also quantified using ELISA kits. Suramin, an angio-suppressive positive control. significantly suppressed proliferation (from 155% rate 54%); (~ 50% inhibition rate) (69% reduction) induced VEGF. These findings explained significant reduction (p < 0.05) MMP-2 39% suppression exhibited reduced (19% compared control) breast cells. Our suggest mainly targets cell through tube formation capacity, via prominent suppressing

Mesenchymal Stem Cells Differentiate to Endothelial Cells Using Recombinant Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor –A

Background: Vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A), an endothelial cell-specific mitogen produced by various cell types, plays important roles in cell differentiation and proliferation. In this study we investigated the effect of recombinant VEGF-A on differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) to endothelial cells (ECs). Methods: VEGF-A was expressed in E. coli BL21 (DE3) and BL21...

Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Production is Regulated by Gene Polymorphisms

Background: Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) has a key role in angiogene-sis and in transplantation. The level of VEGF is related to the differences in the DNA sequence of its promoter region. Objectives: In this study, the association between the combination of VEGF –1154 G and –2578 C alleles and VEGF production by LPS-stimulated PBMCs was investigated. In addition; the relationship ...

Angiotensin II potentiates vascular endothelial growth factor-induced angiogenic activity in retinal microcapillary endothelial cells.

Angiotensin II (Ang II) plays a role in the development of many vascular diseases. In the present study, we have investigated the effect of Ang II on vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) receptor expression and VEGF-induced angiogenic activity in bovine retinal microcapillary endothelial cells (BRECs). Ang II induced a significant increase of kinase domain-containing receptor/total liver k...

Patterns of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Expression in Hematopoietic Malignant Cells

Background and Objective: Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a cytokine which is overexpressed in many malignant cancers including leukemia. VEGF plays an important role in tumor invasion and metastasis. Determination of the pattern of VEGF expression in human leukemic cell lines could be useful not only in screening of new antileukemic agents but also to study the mechanism of their ...

Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor from Embryonic Status to Cardiovascular Pathology

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a multifunctional cytokine with distinct functions in angiogenesis, lymphangiogenesis, vascular permeability, and hematopoiesis. VEGF is a highly conserved, disulfide-bonded dimeric glycoprotein of 34 to 45 kDa produced by several cell types including fibroblasts, neutrophils, endothelial cells, and peripheral blood mononuclear cells, particularly T ...
